Stefan is a construction worker
From the very beginning, Stefan has found the atmosphere at secova to be very relaxed and informal, with no noticeable hierarchies: "We have a very warm, personal and informal atmosphere here. I can just be who I am!"
Stefan only ever had one career aspiration: to be a programmer! As a somewhat mature student, his beginnings were still with the good old Commodore C64. And he was able to do something concrete with it straight away. His challenge: “How do you get the computer to display an image using only numbers?” Since then, technology has continued to change rapidly. “The basics have changed every two to three years. Because nothing remains static and stands still, there was and is always something new!” Stefan sees himself as a core developer. And with the aim of further improving code that already exists: “It’s about making the code more readable (against “dialects”). More precisely, it is about making sam® more performant overall, speeding up processes and reducing errors. Actually, software is somehow always a construction site – and I’m probably a construction worker!”
For Stefan, the integration into the secova team was Very good and uncomplicated: ” After just one week, I felt like I’d been working here for a long time. And I like the fact that we also do private activities with our colleagues.” Personally, his family comes first for him – he has two grown-up children and one young child. He also has two passions in particular. One is music, especially “metal”. He is an avid concertgoer and self-confessed record collector: “This music is very important to me, has been with me for a long time and has shaped me accordingly!” His second big hobby is games. Both board games and role-playing games (one of his favorites for over 30 years has been “Dungeons and Dragons”). “I love sharing stories with others! That’s how I got back into the board game scene via role-playing games. I also like going to medieval markets, because I have a soft spot for fantasy!”
