secova is also a 'Best Employer 2024' throughout Germany.

28.03.2024

Three times 1st place and once 2nd place in the 'Great Place to Work' competition - 100 percent of employees rate their workplace as very good overall.

The software company secova from Rheine has received four awards as ‘best employer’. The company took first place in three categories in the ‘Great Place to Work (GPtW)’ competition organized by the research and consulting institute:

  • Best employer 2024 in the Münsterland.
  • Best employer in NRW.
  • Best employer in ICT (information and communication technology).
And even in the nationwide competition ‘Germany’s Best Employer 2024’ (50-100 employees), the company took an excellent second place.

All participating companies had previously voluntarily submitted to an independent audit and the judgment of their own employees. The research and consulting institute ‘Great Place to Work (GPtW)’ surveyed employees about the workplace culture in their own company.
The main focus was on leadership, trust, recognition, promotion, care, cooperation, team spirit and identification with the company. Company managers also provided information on measures and instruments for personnel and management work. 1,054 companies with a total of 438,283 employees took part in the GPtW initiative.

Team secova is delighted with the numerous awards.

State-of-the-art workplaces, flexible working models and numerous benefits.

The aim of the competition is to encourage companies to develop attractive working conditions and to recognize above-average employer performance. In addition, Germany as a business location and its companies are to be strengthened by an independent seal of quality for high workplace quality. The values collected prove that secova has ‘earned’ this seal for its practiced form of New Work. For example, the so-called ‘Trust Index’ (= agreement with all statements) only reaches a national average of 58%. For GPtW applicants, this is already 87 percent – for secova it is a very high 97 percent. And overall, the statement ‘All in all, I can say that this is a very good place to work!’ even received a perfect 100 percent approval rating.

secova had already taken part in the competition in 2017 and was recognized as one of the best employers in the Münsterland region (up to 50 employees). Having now grown to almost 100 employees, the provider of the EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) software solution sam® has now had itself analyzed and certified again.
In addition to state-of-the-art, ergonomically equipped workstations, the company also offers its employees flexible working models in terms of location and time. In addition, there are numerous benefits such as a 37-hour week, 33 days of vacation, monthly physio visits in the building or various community activities – from the ‘Active Month’ to the ‘Gaming Legends’ or the ‘Living Advent Calendar’ to special annual trips.

People & Culture Manager Katja Nowotny adds:
At Secovians, a flat hierarchy, mutual appreciation and a strong team spirit characterize our daily interaction – every single opinion counts!

And secova COO Nicolas Lulay explains:
At secova, we attach great importance to the well-being of our employees and have taken numerous steps in this direction over the years. Perhaps the most important of these is that we have developed and defined the values we believe in and consistently follow together. It is precisely on this basis that we are able to successfully develop our innovative solution system as a team every day. Of course, there is a clear order of priority: performance first – then comfort. But for us, these go hand in hand.
The entire team secova has already been personally congratulated by Rheine’s Mayor Peter Lüttmann and EWG Managing Director Ingo Niehaus.

Lüttmann emphasized:
Rheine and secova are delighted to have received the award for outstanding quality as an employer. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, it is an ongoing task for companies to ensure optimal working conditions. By taking part in the ‘Great Place to Work 2024’ employer competition, the company has undergone an independent review and passed with flying colors. This is a big plus for secova and for Rheine.

And Niehaus added:
We congratulate you on your awards! secova is a special player in Rheine as a business location – you not only create important jobs, but also promote a positive working environment and thus improve the quality of life. We look forward to further cooperation, for example in our corporate network ‘Rheine – a location for good employers’.
