sam® qualification matrix: Keeping an eye on the skills of all employees
With the sam® skills matrix, you know exactly what (and how well) each individual employee in the company can do and knows.
Who can actually do what in the company and where is there a need to catch up or improve? The sam® qualification matrix software now provides the right answers and a central, always up-to-date overview. With this latest module from secova, you can see all the skills of each individual. And can thus quickly and clearly derive the appropriate training and qualification measures.
In many companies, qualification management is a laborious and time-consuming process, often still involving manually maintained Excel spreadsheets. As a result, some existing skills remain unrecognized or unused, making it difficult to promote potential in a targeted and structured way. It is also important to identify any gaps in knowledge or knowledge that has not yet been acquired and then address them with appropriate measures.
All this is now much easier and more efficient with this new sam® module as a central tool for your qualification management. It is the perfect complement to the sam® basic system for instructions, as it makes training and qualifications, skills and promotion opportunities equally transparent and summarizes them.
This process can also actively involve all stakeholders from the HR department, occupational safety and managers. Freshly completed, interested parties were able to get to know this new module for the first time at our stand at the recently concluded A+A 2021 trade fair in Düsseldorf.
Job profiles with qualifications, characteristics and level of competence
What can something like this look like in practice? With the help of sam®, the various activity profiles can be created and defined within a company. Let’s take the “shift worker” as an example: He or she has different qualifications – here called X, Y and Z – each with different characteristics A, B, C … . Then there is the respective level of competence – for example “Junior”, “Senior” and “Expert”. You can now add corresponding characteristics such as “works independently” or “can instruct other employees”.
A distinction can also be made between
a) mandatory knowledge and skills, and
b) special aptitudes and extended skills or talents.
A points system is also conceivable, for example according to different requirement levels. Each company determines the necessary and desirable knowledge to be imparted according to its own needs. The sam® qualification matrix is the ideal tool for this.
