AI@sam: The start of the AI future

2025 was the year in which we took the next big step: With AI@sam, we presented our vision of AI-supported occupational safety at the A+A trade fair in Düsseldorf. The response overwhelmed us – and confirmed that we are on the right track.

With AI@sam, artificial intelligence provides targeted support for routine tasks and documentation – not to replace people, but to free them up to focus on the essentials.

These specific use cases were particularly well received:

• LMRA (Last Minute Risk Assessment) – A brief risk assessment immediately before starting work. Employees check the work situation and document their assessment in sam®. In this way, risk competence becomes an everyday routine.
• AI-supported inspections – The sam® EHS Manager app enables managers to record observations on site, photos and notes are automatically assigned and measures are initiated directly. This makes inspections faster and more transparent.
• Digital safety data sheets – upload SDS, read out automatically and have them checked. This saves time, reduces errors and even prepares operating instructions automatically.

Operation Risk: Rethinking risk culture

Regulations and training are mandatory – but a real risk culture means more: an awareness of recognizing and assessing risks and acting accordingly. With Operation Risk – Mission: Risk Culture, we combine the performance of sam® with the expertise of stuntman Holger Schumacher, the “RiskBuster”. He has been on set himself for over 20 years, advising productions such as “Alarm for Cobra 11” and Netflix. This unique combination of practical experience and software brings risk culture to life.

Fit for the EU AI Regulation

The AI literacy requirement has been in force since February 2025. We have prepared for this and are offering two new training packages in sam®:

• KI-Wisskom – Modular training series on law, ethics and technology

• G DATA – Compact training for the secure use of AI in everyday life

User Workshop 2025

In March, around 100 sam® users came together in Münster – with a special kick-off at our headquarters in Rheine. Two intensive days full of inspiration, exchange and valuable encounters.

The highlights:

• Neven Subotic with a moving keynote on attention and appreciation
• Holger Schumacher and Johannes Türk-König with a workshop on the topic of risk culture
• Numerous networking opportunities and great togetherness

Days like this show us what we work for every day: For people who promote occupational safety in their companies.

Top Company

We are delighted: secova is once again among the top 5% of all employers in German-speaking countries. The kununu seal is based exclusively on the ratings of our employees – so this award means all the more to us. And we were honored again in 2026 – for the fifth time in a row!

Commitment on site

Young field hockey talent: We have been a proud partner of RHTC Rheine since 2025. Our commitment flows directly into youth work – in coach training, courses and optimal development opportunities for young players.

Donating together: During Active Month 2025, our team raised a total of 3,900 euros for the Rheine Animal Welfare Association and the Freiberg Child Protection Association. And in the Christmas package, every Secovian received a 100-euro donation check. The idea: get together in small groups, choose a donation recipient together and make an even greater impact. At the beginning of 2026, the first donations are already on their way to the following selected organizations:

• Perlenkinder Uganda e.V.
• Felsmann Manor Ltd.

• Doctors of the World e.V.

Outlook 2026: Growing further together

What will the new year bring? One thing above all: we are staying tuned. Our focus is on continuing to design sam® in the best possible way – together with our users. Because the best ideas come from dialog, and your feedback drives us every day.

Following the successful launch of Operation Risk, new missions will follow with which we want to support even more companies. Stay tuned!

We are also looking forward to many personal encounters: On 18. and March 19, 2026 we invite you to the 14th sam® user workshop in Münster, and in October we will be at the Arbeitsschutz Aktuell in Stuttgart – come and see us!

And of course the secova spirit lives on: with joint projects, genuine team spirit and the anticipation of the 2026 annual trip. Because at secova, it’s not just what counts – it’s how we work together.
