secova starts the new year 2024 "inspired"

secova is starting the new year 2024 with great joy and confidence. Last year, the Westphalian provider of the sam® software solution for professional EHS management was once again able to demonstrate that it is leading the way in innovation and continues to be a leader in its field. Being successful as a company and continuously making your sam® solution system a little better every day – this is only possible with a strong team. Despite all the growth, being able to continue to attract the brightest and most motivated minds and inspire them for secova makes the difference here.

And how does that work? One decisive factor is certainly that everyone in the secova team feels committed to jointly defined values (such as mutual appreciation, openness, passion or consistency) in their daily work together. As a result, the relaxed, informal and respectful atmosphere is also felt by all new employees from day one, as their blog portraits impressively demonstrate. This special “secova spirit” is also promoted by numerous benefits and joint activities: From technically and ergonomically well-equipped workstations, sports and physio offers to fundraising campaigns or the “Gaming Legends” to the annual meeting weekend.

At secova, everyone can and should be able to be exactly who they are – as an individual part of the whole. All of this was significantly driven forward and developed by secova’s “Core Spirit Manager” Melanie Klaas, who the secova team had to bid farewell to with a heavy heart in spring 2023. Her ideal of appreciative, cordial, personal and respectful interaction will be a permanent feature of the company and thus of all “Secovians”. Her urgent appeal to her fellow human beings is: “Live life!”

Since the company was founded in 2008, the secova logo has featured a blue angel as a symbol of protection and care, but also as a bearer of important messages. For the special spirit of secova, there is now another angel whose design corresponds to the “voice color” and handwriting of Melanie Klaas. This angel with its intensely colourful wings visualizes her personality in this way. At the same time, from now on he is also a protector of the secova values initiated by her and thus conveys Melanie’s concerns. For the first time, the colorful angel has now landed on a hoodie as a Christmas gift to all employees. Since then, he has been visibly “inspiring” the entire team.

Working at secova – the short film “My desire for New Work”, which premiered last year, shows impressively what this looks like and what is “different” about it. Flexible working time models adapted to personal wishes and needs, a 37-hour week, 33 days of vacation per year, open communication and cooperation on an equal footing: just a few highlights of New Work as secova understands and implements it. Interested parties were also given an insight into the diverse working world of the software company at the “Open House” day, which was held for the first time last year and will take place again on June 8, 2024 at secova’s headquarters in Rheine. Since 2023, an increased Linkedin presence and the large advertising boards at the FCE Rheine club have also ensured increased awareness as an employer in the Westphalian region and beyond.

At secova, however, “New Work” is not only demonstrated to the outside world, but also practiced on a daily basis. The focus here is also on “together”: work objectives are defined in the various teams, everyone presents their results and sub-steps in meetings on an equal footing, every idea counts. Together with the awareness rules, a regular look inside the company helps, from which management guidelines or a communication workshop for everyone can be derived. secova has already been and continues to be regularly recognized as a top employer. Being successful together is also part of secova’s social responsibility, which is particularly evident in the numerous donations, often in connection with joint campaigns, and extends beyond the company itself. The company would like to set an example here and inspire people to get involved.

“New Work” for employees, “best service” for customers and interested parties

“Being successful together” is also the motto for particularly close customer relationships. On the company side, this is reflected not only in the fact that sales targets have been exceeded once again, but above all in the diverse reactions and ratings from satisfied existing customers. For secova itself, partnership-based cooperation and the best possible customer proximity are top priorities. Proof of this was the 11th sam® user workshop, which took place from March 21-22, 2023 in Hamburg and once again generated overwhelmingly positive feedback. This event is extremely popular: all 110 places have already been allocated for the 12th workshop from March 19-20, 2024, again at the Atlantic Kempinski Hotel in Hamburg.

Technologically leading and at the same time very easy to use – this has always characterized the browser and database-based EHS software sam®. Together with fresh ideas and solutions that are sometimes thought through “differently” and then actually implemented, this convinces customers and interested parties alike: When it comes to “modern” occupational health and safety, they see secova as a reliable partner. From direct contact persons to a sophisticated ticket system, great importance is attached to optimum service. And with success, as the numerous positive reviews on ProvenExpert (with a 96% recommendation rate!) prove. The in-house Customer Service Management (CSM) is also being further expanded for this purpose.

Various partnerships and cooperations also contribute to the optimization and expansion of the comprehensive solution package. For example, there is an agreement with ISOPA / ALIPA: all training topics on the correct handling of diisocyanates can be assigned, carried out and recorded directly in sam®. And thanks to a further partnership, secova customers can now also sensitize their employees to the dangers of everyday digital life. This is ensured by G-DATA‘s security awareness training courses, which can now be activated as additional training topics in the sam® EHS basic system. In the future, secova would also like to enrich its range of services with further partner offerings and thus provide additional knowledge in specialized areas, for example.

With its various functional modules that can be combined and complement each other, sam® helps companies to manage their numerous day-to-day tasks more easily. The team then presented its very latest ideas and innovations relating to sam® at A+A from October 24-27, 2023 in Düsseldorf. The world’s leading trade fair for occupational health and safety takes place every two years (next event: November 4-7, 2025). The sam® PSA Manager, together with the sam® safety avatar, had its premiere there. The “custom-fit” functional module for personal protective equipment is a new development in cooperation with uvex. Other solutions fresh from the secova lab were also on display.
