
Philipp Lulay joins secova's management team
As the new "Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO)", he is involved in all projects relating to sam®
Philipp Lulay, Head of Development at secova for many years, is joining the management team of the software company from Münsterland with immediate effect. As CPTO, he is the third “Chief” in the secova team alongside Jörg Klaas (CEO) and Nicolas Lulay (COO). In his “CPTO” function, he is responsible for the two areas “Product (P)” and “Technology (T)”. Behind this is the entire product development of the sam® EHS software for professional compliance management – i.e. the “what” and “how” of the comprehensive solution system. For him, it is still important “to be involved everywhere and to stay involved in all projects.” His motto is to sit in and participate instead of just delegating. And for him, this is not a question of trust, but rather: “I still like to lend a hand myself, as required.”
With a grin, he almost sums up his favorite suggestion to his team: “Go ahead, I’ll sell it to Jörg and Nico!” This is based on secova’s pragmatic approach of giving ideas as much freedom as possible. Being innovative and “different” here means simply being able to try out new things without barriers in your head. In this way, creative solutions for the continuous optimization and expansion of sam® are constantly being developed. Its numerous, ideally complementary functional modules – for example for instructions or risk assessments, hazardous substance, external company, health, incident or maintenance management (and much more) – support companies in their numerous duties relating to occupational health and safety.
A core task: sam® remains a functional and technical leader
Philipp Lulay joined secova as a software developer in 2012. He had already dealt with the topic of “mobile apps” in his final thesis during his studies and therefore quickly realized that a mobile application option would also be a necessary and useful addition for sam®. Accordingly, he has developed the first version of the sam® EHS Manager – a “real” native app for use on mobile devices anywhere, directly on site. The importance of this mobile solution continues to grow rapidly, and the secova app team is already working on the next generation. In general, the CPTO sees its task as initiating many measures in the background in consultation with secova’s sales, service and content teams to ensure the future viability of sam®.
Remaining the leading system on the market in terms of functionality and technology means constant further development and improvement. Quality optimization, increasing automation and the scalability of various processes are becoming more and more important. At secova, this also means having the courage to break new ground from time to time. Such as sam®-VR, the virtual reality online software solution for tangible training of important know-how. The major advantages of this innovative training tool are the ability to experience dangerous situations “as if they were real” and to practice correct behavior without danger. But one thing remains constant with sam®: the system is very easy to use – as easy as an ATM!
