André likes added value

André works as a Senior Data Scientist at secova – and is rarely committed to just one direction. He completed his Abitur at the same time as his school education. Prior to this, he had already completed his training as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant. Studying business informatics combined business and technology for him. He is currently studying Big Data & Business Analytics alongside his job. “I’ve always enjoyed working with PCs – but pure IT was too technical for me. Today, I analyze large amounts of data not only technically, but also in terms of business administration. Our aim is to derive added value from this so that we can become more efficient and effective. One thing is clear: data quality is the foundation for everything.”

Together with his sparring partner(data) Daniel,(analysis) André forms a well-rehearsed duo with the same vision of what we want to offer in the future. Both agree: “Our department is essentially an internal service provider – a kind of in-house consulting. We don’t collect and analyze data as an end in itself, but for specific, targeted recommendations for action.” After several preliminary talks, André quickly felt at home at Team secova: “Everyone here is very open – I was integrated immediately and quickly found a personal level.” It was important to him to be free to organize his working hours and location. The offer to work mainly from home was particularly decisive: “The coherent overall package was crucial!”

In his private life, André focuses more on anticipation and experience: he has been chasing the plastic ball over the table in table tennis for around 30 years and plays in the national league. The BVB fan used to run after the leather ball, but nowadays a bit of fitness is enough to keep him fit. His bowling club is also important to him as a mix of sport and socializing: “It’s about both!” He also likes to play online. He describes himself as down-to-earth and uncomplicated.
