Paul checks this.
What drives Paul as a software tester at secova? 'To see how everything works and that everything fits in the end!'.
Paul has a license to test at secova. Whatever our developers reprogram for a current release version of sam® or an extension of its numerous function modules – Paul “checks” it for perfect functioning before it is released. The release tests in particular have precise processes such as predefined click paths in the modules. If there really is a problem somewhere, a ticket is created immediately and the possible malfunction is quickly rectified. Paul has joined the secova team as an intern. and is now aiming to start his training as an application developer at secova in 2023. He has always been interested in how computers work and how they are constructed. His own research and first attempts at developing games and writing code encouraged him to want to know more about hardware and software: “What seems simple on the surface is much more complex behind the scenes.” Deepening his knowledge of this – first as a tester on the side and then as an apprentice – is now his clear career aspiration.
Paul owes his “computer love” in large part to the support of his father, who is a programmer himself. But they also share a passion for mountain biking in their free time. Getting on their bikes, well protected, and rocking the trails and downhills together is great fun for them. It goes without saying that a detour to the bike park is a must on vacation. Otherwise, like many young people, Paul likes to play games on the computer with friends or meet up with them for a relaxed evening. He’s not the party type, but music is still very important to him. He taught himself to play the piano a year ago and has been practicing diligently ever since. But he likes to play his headphones a little louder, because his preferred style of music is not “cuddly rock”, but metal. For cuddles – and long walks – there is the family dog, a brown Labrador. And it only needs a few treats as “software”.
