Karl does it better

Karl, a junior app/VR developer at secova, doesn’t just get started on every project. He is convinced: “There are always different ways, not just one. That’s why you often don’t get your answer simply by doing, but by constantly looking for new, more suitable solutions.” He immersed himself in the world of technology at a young age, traditionally through video and PC games. Up until his vocational baccalaureate, his interests were balanced between electrical engineering and computer science. He then studied media informatics at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, where the second, much more practical part of his studies really inspired him: “As part of project management, we developed software for a 24-hour swimming event for lane counting, which was voted the best computer science project.” Karl then came to secova for his Bachelor’s thesis. He has programmed an “escape route instruction” for us. He is now a permanent member of the secova team and is “very satisfied. I felt immediately accepted, everyone is very nice, I feel at home here. I always get direct, concrete feedback from the team, which really helps me. I really like it!”

Karl has also always been passionate about technology in his private life. At some point in his youth, the possibilities of the computer game “Minecraft” were a little too limited for him. “I wanted something new and additional” – so he developed (his) own Minecraft server. The world of computer games is also a big topic for him. Gambling with friends, especially at the weekend, is a regular part of his free time. He first met some of his friends through this passion – such as his Dresden clique, which he visits every year. He also follows the e-sports scene, particularly the game “Counter-Strike”, more passively as a spectator. He used to play soccer, athletics and table tennis in a club and also went to the gym. “I want to go there again soon with a buddy and work out!” At the moment, he needs his power more for the stress of moving house, for example when setting up the kitchen: he is currently furnishing his new apartment in Mesum…
