Gaming Legends 4: Game board instead of games console

Board games are “sociable”: they are fun, promote tactical and creative action and bring people together. There are many characteristics that also characterize our working life at secova. In our “Gaming Legends”, however, our EHS solution system sam® is generally not on the game plan. Because on these evenings we simply play “just for fun”! Gaming Legends 1-3 were – probably typical of software companies – games with screens and controllers. Our Gaming Legends 4, on the other hand, is completely different: instead of computers and consoles, it’s now a game board, cards and figures.

At secova, 2024 is obviously also a year of reflection and concentration on the essentials. This year, we left the comfort zone of the hotel for our strategy meeting and held the workshop at a campsite instead. We have also dispensed with electronic communication media and swapped them for pens plus paper. Almost similar now with this year’s Gaming Legends – digital no, analog and “tangible” go!

Our evening motto: “They don’t do anything, they just want to play…”

We played a total of six very different games: In addition to chess, Phase 10, Exploding Kittens(like UNO, only spicier), Hotel(similar to Monopoly) and Jenga, we also played the board game version of “Bloodborne”. This cooperative action-adventure game is all about working together against evil. In the end, however, only one character can perhaps strike the decisive blow and thus escape destruction as the victor. But the dark forces are very strong!

To make sure we didn’t get weak in between, we were able to help ourselves to a delicious buffet in addition to our fabulous salad bar. And as is the case with sociable, fun evenings among friends: Time flew by and it was difficult to find an end. Gaming Legends 4 has definitely further strengthened the gaming instinct in us Secovians. And so one thing seems certain: this Team secova event lives on, the Gaming Legends 5 are coming…
