Farin tries it out

Farin is the quieter, sometimes even a bit shy type. But he has always been one thing: creative! After graduating from high school with a degree in civil engineering, he initially thought about studying architecture. But he finds the many regulations and guidelines too restrictive for new, sometimes unconventional ideas. “I love trying out all sorts of different things, I’m curious and keen to experiment. I have always been drawn to creative things, especially photography, and I have always loved drawing.”

Our job advertisement for an apprenticeship as a media designer (digital + print) was a perfect fit for him. He quickly convinced us with his application video, among other things. “I’m glad to have found such a varied apprenticeship – with a lot of creative freedom and a great deal of scope. From graphic design to photography, video editing, animation, image processing and innovations in the field of AI, for example. The digital space in particular is becoming ever larger and more important. The fact that I can get involved and create – just perfect for me!” He also found the “very open and warm-hearted recruitment process perfect, you are part of the secova team right from the start! Everyone here approaches you with interest, we place great value on openness, communication and trust. It really creates a nice family feeling!”

Farin originally comes from Miltenberg in Bavaria, but has lived in Greven for a long time, now together with his girlfriend. He also lives out his curiosity in his free time: “I like to try out a piece of everything that interests me!” In addition to photography and drawing, his artistic playground includes painting, engraving (accessories & decorative) and redesigning clothes (e.g. bleaching). Farin enjoys reading, “but not so much novels, more non-fiction books or books on psychological topics – especially when I want to know something in more detail.” He occasionally plays basketball, table tennis or frisbee, and also does weight training from time to time. “But nothing fixed, just as the mood takes me!” Spending time with friends is important to him, as is simply going for a walk. Or trying out a video game – his curiosity for creative things wins out. A wish for the future? “I want to make electronic music myself!”

Last but not least: Yes, his rather unusual first name was inspired by the singer “Farin Urlaub” from the band “Die Ärzte”. As well as the name, he also shares a love of photography…
