Adrian is learning slower faster.
Adrian says: "Where others only work with their heads, secova also works with its heart!"
Adrian is the youngest member of our secova team, at least in terms of age. After an internship phase to get to know each other, he is now training to become a front-end developer. After his vocational baccalaureate, he aimed to choose a career in IT & electronics, and two things are important to him for the ‘right’ job: fun and creativity. At secova he felt the “good vibes” right from the first interview, and this feeling of well-being has lasted ever since: “People don’t work according to standards here, but in a relaxed manner and without formalities. I can be who I am and have been received positively from the very beginning.” In addition to learning programming languages and general basics, he is allowed to develop his skills on two larger projects per year. “I’m not a fan of puzzles, but in programming the task is often to develop a solution from pieces of a puzzle. If I then manage to create a sensible, suitable result…that’s a very nice and fulfilling feeling!” In the beginning, Adrian wanted “too much at once and preferably immediately” – now he sticks to his new motto “you learn faster slowly!”
Adrian also likes to be creative and versatile outside of work: he particularly enjoys playing electric guitar, video games and producing his own beats. It helps that he once learned to play the piano, even if he now only improvises from time to time “when there’s a piano around” – or digitally when he’s looking for a new beat. He used to play basketball in a club, but now only “occasionally with friends when the weather is nice.” His small side business takes up more of his time – a so-called “one-product store” as an online store. “Offline”, he particularly enjoys spending time with his dog, an American pit bull. He also has a talent that we have already noticed: he is a gifted stand-up comedian! It’s a good thing that people at secova also like to laugh a lot (and with him even more now!). That’s not the only reason Adrian feels really at home here, “the office equipment here is also first class.” What he finds even more important, however, is how advanced the consideration for mental health is here: “Mutual high esteem, a lot of freedom for each individual and yet clear structures – that fits!”
