Active Month 2026 — The secova Team Raises 4,850 euros in Donations
Every step, every effort counted, whether it was a personal or a team challenge
The secova team really gave it their all once again: During “Active Month 2026,” the motto was once again, “Get up from your seat and get moving with an activity of your choice!” Immediately following our strategy meeting this year, our four-week challenge kicked off on May 11. And yet we Secovians had a choice—either take on a personal challenge or join the team challenge.
For the personal challenge, the goal was to tackle a challenge that was ambitious for oneself. Whether it was racking up kilometers while running, completing countless laps on a bike, or doing tons of push-ups—the key was to stay at it and keep going. For every goal achieved, secova donated 150 euros, and the recipients could be chosen by the participants themselves. In the end, nine participants met their fundraising goals, raising a total of 1,350 euros.
Most Secovians took part in this year’s “Oura Step Challenge.” Thanks to their ring, they can track things like their sleep quality and recovery levels, as well as the number of steps they take each day. Set up as a team challenge, the goal was for each participant to average 7,000 steps per day. This figure was not chosen arbitrarily; it is based on scientific findings. Consequently, this is exactly the number of steps per day that cuts the risk of premature death in half (compared to just 2,000). Thanks to the actual number of steps taken, the participants in this challenge raised a total of 3,500 euros, which has now been donated to the Königskinder Children’s Hospice.
Stay Active—for Yourself and for a Good Cause
Doing something good for yourself and others—that’s the idea behind our “Active Month.” Not only—but especially—for those of us who work in offices, it’s important to make sure we get enough regular exercise in addition to eating a healthy diet. As with occupational safety, prevention is the key here as well. We at Secovian shouldn’t just be happy about our ergonomic workstations, our daily salad bar, fresh fruit, and pure water. We also work out together from time to time—whether in our in-house fitness class or during impromptu get-togethers for activities like jogging, biking, or kayaking.
But especially during our “Active Month,” we have another important source of motivation: We’re “working up a sweat” for a good cause! For years now, the reward for our hard work has been that our athletic achievements are converted into euros. And secova then donates these proceeds to various social and charitable organizations—this is a “matter close to our hearts” in more ways than one!
