Data protection at secova

Overview

§
The protection of personal data is very important to many Internet users and is an important basis for pleasant and satisfactory use of the Internet.

secova GmbH & Co. KG is always very attentive to the questions and concerns of customers and other visitors to our website as regards data protection, and observes the data protection legislation in Germany and abroad as well as the corresponding EU Directives.
We assure you, as both a purchaser of our products and services and as a visitor to our website, that we do not record any of your personal data unless you make these available to us. Please note that our websites contain links to other websites. secova GmbH & Co. KG undertakes no responsibility for these other websites' observance of data protection, data protection declarations or contents. As a content provider, secova GmbH & Co. KG is only responsible for its own contents which it provides for usage according to general legislation. A distinction must be made between these internal contents and cross references ("links") to contents offered by other providers. In this regard, secova GmbH & Co. KG merely offers "external contents" for usage via these cross references. secova GmbH & Co. KG is only responsible for these external contents if positive knowledge (i.e. also of illegal or punishable contents) regarding these is available and it is technically possible and reasonable to prevent their usage (§5 Para. 2 German Telecommunications Services Act (TDG)). However, "links" are always "living" (dynamic) references. Whilst secova GmbH & Co. KG has checked the external contents on linking for the first time, to ensure that they do not give rise to possible civil or criminal accountability, the content provider is not under obligation, according to the TDG, to continuously monitor the contents to which it makes reference in its offering for changes that could constitute grounds for a new accountability. Only if it establishes or is advised by others that a concrete offering to which a link is provided gives rise to civil or criminal accountability shall it delete the link to this offering insofar as this is technically possible and reasonable. Technical possibility and reasonableness are not influenced by the fact that the illegal or criminal offering can still be accessed from other servers after access from the secova GmbH & Co. KG website has been prohibited. Data which we record

Personal data

We do not record any personal data from visitors to our website, unless the visitor expressly and consciously makes these available. Under no circumstances do we record personal data which provide information on race, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical views, membership of a trade union, health or sexual activity. If you merely visit our website, we do not record any personal data on you.
Certain personal data can be expressly and consciously made available and their recording by us approved in two cases:

E-mail enquiries due to information or registration for guidelines or seminars. Our website provides links via which you can send us e-mail messages if you have questions, would like to request information or material, register or would like to register for guidelines or seminars, or have any comments or suggestions for us. You also have the option of obtaining information on our products and services personally from one of our employees. To enable us to process your enquiry, we request additional personal data such as your name and your telephone number.

Registration

When you request one of our products or services, we require certain data from you. Depending on the product or service, different personal data are recorded. In the case of certain products and services, it is necessary to specify your name, age, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card number, bank details, IP address or similar information. When requesting other products and services, other or additional data may be required under certain circumstances. An exhaustive list of the types of personal data which have to be specified when ordering the various products can be found on the order page for the relevant product or the relevant service. Statistical data on your visit

When you visit our website, our computers automatically record statistical data on your visit. These data contain no information on your person; instead, they reflect information regarding your visit to our website. For example, we maintain statistics on the number of visitors to our website, the IP address of the user, the date and time of the visit, the pages visited, the domains from which visitors access the website and the browsers which they use. These statistical data are not compared against the personal data which you have transmitted to us. Instead, the information is evaluated in an exclusively anonymous manner and is then deleted again at regular intervals. The statistics help us to improve the performance of our websites.

Use of cookies

We only use "cookies" in the manner explained in this section. A "cookie" contains information which is transmitted from our website to your browser; this then saves the information on your system. When cookies are used, our website is able to "note" information on you and your settings, either until you close the current browser window (with temporary cookies) or until you deactivate or delete the cookie. Many users use cookies, as they help them to navigate on a website. You can be assured that cookies only contain as many data as you permit, and that they are unable to make their way onto your hard disk and transmit personal or other data from your computer to the sender of the cookies.

We exclusively use "cookies" in the situations described in the following. The first situation refers to temporary cookies. Temporary cookies are used in two cases. When you access our services via one of our on-line applications, our web server automatically transmits a temporary cookie to your browser to make navigation on our website easier. The only information contained in these temporary cookies is a direction value which enables our software to determine which page is to be displayed when you click onto the "Back" button in your browser. The cookie is deleted as soon as you close the current browser window. If you access our website via one of our business partners, our web server also transmits a temporary cookie to your browser; this contains an "origin code" for this business partner. These data are used for statistical and marketing purposes. If you are a secova GmbH & Co. KG licensee and call up an area of the website with access control, we set a temporary cookie for the link in order to specify that you have been authenticated. These cookies contain random data which the server uses to authenticate the browser queries to the server within this session. The cookies do not contain any data with which you can be personally identified. The cookie is deleted as soon as you close the current browser window. The second situation in which we use cookies is when requesting documentation, service or other enquiries to us within the framework of your visit to our website. When you complete a form, you can choose whether our website is to transmit a cookie to your local hard disk. This does not involve a temporary cookie; however, you can deactivate it at any time in your browser settings. If you choose not to accept this type of cookie, you can still use our website. If you accept this type of cookie, you save time as the completion of forms and/or further visits to our website become unnecessary. Even if you have accepted this type of cookie, the receipt of a message when a cookie is transmitted to you can be set in your browser at any time. This always provides you with the option of deciding whether to accept or reject the cookie. On this website, data are collected and stored for marketing and optimisation purposes using technologies from etracker GmbH (www.etracker.com) Usage profiles can be created from these data under a pseudonym. Cookies may be used for this. Cookies are small text files which are stored locally in the buffer of the site visitor's Internet browser. The cookies allow the Internet browser to be recognised again.
Without the separately issued permission of the relevant party, the data collected using the etracker technologies are not used to personally identify visitors to this website and are not collated with personal data on the bearer of the pseudonym. Data collection and storage can be rejected at any time with future effect.

If you have received a notification from one of our trustworthy partners or suppliers, or if we have already forwarded your data to our trustworthy partners or suppliers, you may have to inform these directly that you do not wish to receive any further notifications in the future.

Our security measures

The protection of all personal data which we receive from visits to our website and our customers forms an important part of our corporate philosophy.
